The conservative nation of South Korea still may not allow homosexual marriage, but K-pop idols in the country’s tune industry are doing their best to show sustain to their LGBTQIA fans however they can.

Holland

Holland made his debut in 2018 as the first openly gay K-pop idol with his single Neverland. He chose the stage designate Holland as a tribute to the first nation to legalise same-sex marriage. He originally struggled to debut as no fun company was willing to work with an openly gay artist and so he worked multiple jobs to fund his own debut. Since then he has used his platform to be an advocate for LGBTQIA rights and to glow a light on the homophobic discrimination that gender non-conforming people are still facing in Korea’s conservative society.

In 2022, he took to Instagram to share photographs after being assaulted in the popular clubbing district of Itaewon. Holland explained: “Last night, I was walking around Itaewon with my manager and a buddy. Suddenly, a strange gentleman approached me and beat

Netizens Praise 2nd Gen K-Pop Idol For Bisexual Representation In New MV

Netizens are loving the double attraction vibes of a 2nd Gen K-Pop idol’s latest tune video.

Recently, f(x)‘s Amber Liu released her new fun and sexy single, “Dusk Till Dawn,” about “sneaking out” with someone.

Now, the melody video has been released, and fans were pleasantly surprised by the LGBTQIA+ representation in the video. Amber is featured going on dates and dancing with both a man and a woman.

The MV ultimately ends with the woman taking a picture of Amber and the gentleman together, leaving the rest of the video open for interpretation. Was the woman really a third wheel who liked Amber, but feelings weren’t reciprocated? It’s up to the viewer to determine the video’s meaning.

Still, netizens were excited to view the queer advocacy from a K-Pop idol. Many multi-attracted fans especially appreciated the music video. The fact that Amber served as a writer and one of the directors, too, makes it all the more meaningful.

Amber has long self-identified as an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Amber Opens Up About Her Personal Identity And Just How Significant The LGBTQ Community Is To Her

(f)x‘s Amber has released a modern mixtape called “Rogue Rouge”, and Amber says it’s her first chance to show the earth who she really is and her stance on free love.

She has been self-promoting the album with free streaming on SoundCloud and her own Youtube channel because she wants the society to see her for who she really is.

She opened up during an interview with Billboard about how “Rogue Rouge” is about showing the world her perspectives, political stances, and the sentimental journey to how she got to where she is today.

“I think people still don’t understand who I am. I wanted to be like, ‘Guys, I’m not who you think I am.’ I want to exhibit a very humane side of me.” — Amber

The album is personal for Amber, with songs about heartbreak, privacy, freedom, and her experience in the song industry. She also took on a new change by featuring very little rapping, something diverse from her (f)x days when she was known as the rapper of the group.

“It’s always been in me, but I’m not a rapper. IR

I only managed to read one folio in these last days, but I am excited to share this one with you for two reasons. Last time, I bemoaned the lack of female idols in my research, this week we are going to chat about Amber Liu. I also didn’t find any instances of queerbaiting with celebrities, but what this paper describes looks to me exactly as the queerbaiting TV shows do.

The paper also starts out by talking about Liu’s appearance, which it describes as tomboyish or androgynous. It is even more noticeable as the singer is part of a lady group where the other members dress like a stereotypical female idol. There are examples from music videos, widespread performances and even talk shows or social media posts where Liu appears. Analysing these, it is not only Liu’s appearance that’s shown in contrast with the other bandmembers or other idols but the singer’s gestures or behaviour.

Nonetheless, while Amber’s style is unlike to that of her female counterparts, she is not recognized by her fans as particularly out of the ordinary. We deduce that the reason for this is because she looks not dissimilar to many of the K-Pop’s male stars. (…) If we t
