Is he really...

Is Van Hansis (Luke) gay in real life? He mentioned before in interviews that he is straight but there are alot of rumors going around that he is dating a fellow actor that does Broadway perform. He also went with him to the Emmy’s and there are photograghs of the two together. I am a huge fan of Van Hansis but I include kind of disoriented some respect for him. I represent he is telling a story about a teen who lives life out and proud and lots of people look up to him for that. I guess I’ll just have to take his pos for it that he is direct until he says otherwise. Anyways sorry for ranting I’m just a minuscule upset.

Many up and coming young actors, if they are gay, do not want to travel public with that information because it may hurt future casting possibilities. I am not saying that Van is or isn’t, but I like the way he interviews. Gay or not, he is very gay friendly, and that is truthful, not just bein supportive to acquire the role.

Actor Van Hansis’ career started spinning when he landed the role of Luke Snyder on the soap opera As the World Turns. His character came out of the closet in spring 2006, and he did so publicly years later. He went on to perform in several movies such as The Occupant and a short motion picture called Wedding Day.
He recently starred in the independent production Kiss Me, Eliminate Me, with fellow actors like Gale Harold from Homosexual as Folk and D.J. Pierce (also known as Shangela from RuPaul’s Flamboyant Race).
Windy City Times talked with Hansis when he visited Chicago during the Reeling Film Festival.
Windy City Times: Does your name show up from your first name or your middle name?
Van Hansis: It is a really weird situation. My mother’s maiden name is Vanfossen. Her dad and brother are named Marion but they didn’t like that name, so they went by Van. My grandfather was chief of police and would depart by Van. My family wanted to call me Van so they named me Evan—no one calls me that. They could possess called me anything but since my middle name is Vanfossen they could have still called me Van. It is kind of a double negative and sounds love I am some sort of East German royalty!

I guess it was a combination of a lot of things—It was my first job, it was a different time back then in regards to LGBT stories existence told—I mean, the Luke story was groundbreaking at the day. Now, I think every remaining soap has a gay storyline. I was completely green, fresh out of college, and honestly, I was scared. You were nominated for three Daytime Emmys f
