CLOSEST TO COQUI DEL MAR gay hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico:

HATO REY:  This area has more local bars and tends to be a younger crowd.  Thursdays, aka, college night, is especially popular.  Amigos del Jangeo, El Cojo, Pal Frente and the newest, Convene Macarena, are all next door to eachother.

Atrévete bar and cafe is more women/ lesbian focused, but welcomes all.  The owners frequently host local queer artists and musicians. 

El Cojo: Local gay block and small homosexual dance club on the strip of local bars.

Meet Macarena:  The newest LGBTQ hot spot/ lgbtq+ bar, a hybrid bar with swimming pool, jazz nights and dancing.  And just across from El Cojo.

Pal Frente:   Local gay block on the strip of local bars.

La Cantina: Local homosexual Karaoke bar and restaurant.  Reasonable prices.  Laid back.

The best second to visit San Juan is during the cooler months from December to April. This period offers pleasant weather with less humidity and enjoyable temperatures. While it can be busier with tourists, it's easier to locate a range of LGBTQ+ activities and events during this period, making it ideal for socializing and exploration.
