Saturday Night Live’s 50th-anniversary special has been a nostalgia trip. The show has brought back cast members, iconic guests, and recurring sketches from seasons past. It also brought back a beloved recurring sketch from, like, a month or two ago, hauling out Domingo’s sweet ass (Marcello Hernandez) for another banquet-hall event interrupted by another new song parody. Hearkening back to the ancient days of the very first Domingo sketch advocate in October 2024, in which Ariana Grande played a bridesmaid singing an “Espresso” parody about a bachelorette weekend affair, Sabrina Carpenter donned the unsightly bridesmaid gown this time. Marcello Hernandez’s career has blown up. The Latino comedian is one of Saturday Night Live’s finest new cast members and has discussed his experience of making the show on Despierta America. In an interview, he discussed his relationship with Gloria and Emilio Estefan, with his mom making an appearance and discussing Marcello’s rebellious teenage years.
Marcello was speaking with one of the hosts of Despierta America, where they showed him a video of Emilio Estefan sending him his best. “Emilio is very nice. I take him sustenance sometimes,” explained Marcello in Spanish. The two met before Marcello’s work in SNL. “He’s helped me a lot. He’s been a very positive influence in my life. Live from New York, it’s Marcello Hernández—and his new love interest.
The Saturday Night Live star seemingly debuted his romance with Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral as they stepped out for the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2 together in Manhattan July 21.
In photos taken at the event, Marcello, 27, wore a cream colored T-shirt with brown plaid pants and a matching ball cap, accessorizing his look with a gold wristwatch and tinted sunglasses. As for Ana, the New York-based architect posed alongside the comedian donning a black uppermost and a floral-print skirt with heels and a gold clutch.
Prior to the red carpet outing, the pair also attended The Phoenician Scheme’s premiere afterparty together at Unused York’s Metropolitan Club in May, where they smiled for photos with Benicio del Toro and Steve Buscemi inside the bash.
